Artistic Statement

“ Movement for the People, by the People”

As a dancer, artist, choreographer, and human, I strive to create innovative and thought-provoking works that explore and challenge the complexities of human existence. Through pushing the boundaries of movement, I uncover narratives that allow my choreography to exist in immersive, self-contained worlds. This process of world-building is deeply rooted in artistry, somatic exploration, and thorough research into the who, what, when, where, and how of movement.
I am committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where dancers' passion and artistry can flourish—where individuals are celebrated through cultural, historical, and personal exploration. My goal is to challenge my students, myself, and the very possibilities of human movement, while staying grounded in the belief: “movement for the people, about the people, by the people.”
My artistic approach is guided by the desire to invent movement, to take creative risks, and to remain present in the journey of each piece. I follow my instincts with the intent of creating innovative, bold, and purpose-driven work. Much of my choreography is inspired by the female experience—drawing from stories of women throughout history to explore their strength, resilience, and complexity.
I am intentionally present and attuned to who is in the room with me. I believe that human connection is at the core of dance and choreography, and I actively cultivate a space where that connection can thrive. This aligns deeply with Pointeworks’ mission of “ensuring that creativity thrives at every level.” My choreographic philosophy mirrors this commitment: creativity is not only the driving force behind my work, but a value I aim to inspire in everyone I collaborate with.
Passionately pushing the envelope and enthusiastically championing creativity are the constants in everything I do—both inside and outside the studio.
